Within its fortifications under the mountain peaks, Mont-Dauphin offers its visitors a series of shows and festivities. The Saint-John bonfire heralds summertime with its acrobatic ballet festival, craftsmen markets, costumed 17th century soldiers. The year ends with the Christmas market. All year round you may come across  the villagers’ joyful carnival, street dinners or picnics.

From March : 3D art by Anne-Marie Jugnet in the powder store (admission with guided tour only)

May-June : Prize-winning photographs of major Vauban fortificatiions (arsenal) admission free

July 7 to August 31 : Archive photos of transport in Hautes-Alpes , to September 16 contemporary aert by Jean-Marie Delbes (arsenal, admission free)

Entertainment

• May 8 - Jumble sale

• June 10 – Raid Vauban : hundreds compete in cross country bike races, up to 70 kms and 2,600 metres height différence in magnificent scenery.

  June 22-24 – Folk dances (on June 23 St-John bonfire)

  July 7 – 10th anniversary of Vauban Fortifications listing on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Unprecedented visit of Lunette d’Arçon. Free admission to all exhibitions.  (célébrations in Briançon)

  July 13 – 10th anniversary celebration of Mont-Dauphin World Heritage listing. Picnic, Demonstration of ancient trades, Children games (afternoon), outdoors dinner, Outdoors Vauban film projection (10 p.m. Rochambeau barracks)

  July 24-August 6 : Musicales Guil Durance, a series of classical music concerts

  July 27-29 – 12th Vertical’été dance festival (acrobatic ballet and dance). August 23-24 : Ascendance dance school.

  August 23-25 – Potes de Marmots (Kids’ Pals) (children’s games, concerts, plays, shows, tales)
   

  Le 6 octobre : Mathurin BOLZE show. An original show by his MPTA modern ballet company.
